Residential Rental Unit Permit Program

On September, 13, 2022 the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners adopted the Residential Rental Unit Permit program, to establish permits and housing inspections, which will improve the health, safety and welfare of our community.

A Regulated Residential Rental Unit is a room or rooms located in a condominium, co-op, timeshare, quadraplex, triplex, duplex or single-family dwelling that is rented, or advertised or held out to be rented, for periods of at least thirty (30) consecutive days or one (1) calendar month, whichever is less. Public lodging establishments and dormitories, are regulated by the state pursuant to Part I of chapter 509, Florida Statutes, and are excluded from this definition.
