The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture Programs for March 2018. These programs are being offered by the Alachua County Master Gardeners.
How to Grow Tomatoes in Alachua County – March 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Newberry Library Branch (110 S. Seaboard Dr, Newberry) by Brenda Campbell, Master Gardener
This class will cover growing tomatoes in the garden and containers. It will include basics of how to grow tomatoes in Florida’s challenging environment, including managing pests, diseases, and disorders.

Propagating Camellias by Air Layering and Pruning Camellias – March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (4700 S.W. 58th Dr, Gainesville) by Irma Velez, Master Gardener
The class will cover why and how to propagate camellias by air layering, and how to prune camellias to shape them and reduce pests and disease. The class is included in the admission into the park. The ticket allows participants to reserve a seat in the class. Participants pay the $8 entrance fee into Kanapaha Botanical Gardens at the greeting desk (free if you have a membership).
