Mission

To provide courteous and effective waste collection services to citizens of Alachua County, and to help those citizens manage and reduce their household waste

Functions

  • Manages collection contracts and programs by cooperative effort with City of Gainesville
  • Manages, along with the City of Gainesville, a curbside collection program within the universal collection area - the only volume-based cart system in Florida
  • Develops and manages all non-ad valorem assessments
  • Manages and operates disposal facilities outside the universal collection area
