RFA 18-222 Transformative Professional Development for the Early Care and Education Program Providers Request for Applications

Alachua County is seeking Requests for Applications (RFA) for the “RFA 18-222 Transformative Professional Development (TPD) for the Early Care and Education Program Providers.”

Proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Alachua County Procurement Office, on the third floor of the Alachua County Administration Building, 12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville).

The purpose of this RFA is to initiate a TPD for Early Care and Education Program Providers to ensure universal supports for this most critical phase of preparing young children for school and life success. TPD includes targeted supports for those who need additional help, and place-based supports for those with greatest needs.

The TPD includes both where it is delivered and how it is delivered. Place-based supports will be coupled with universal and targeted activities disseminated to early care and education sites throughout Alachua County through the Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County. The initiative contemplates funding up to two demonstration sites.

Applicants planning to respond to the RFA must attend the Mandatory Pre-Application Meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Alachua County Health Department’s Thomas Coward Auditorium (218 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville).

The Alachua County Commission created the Children's Services Advisory Board (CSAB) with the overarching goal to assure all Alachua County children are ready to enter kindergarten – TPD advances that mission. The Commission appropriated $1.2 million to fund programs directed at early childhood development with an emphasis on children, prenatal to age five, and their families.
