October Agriculture and Natural Resources Program

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture & Natural Resources Program for October 2017. This program is being offered by Dr. Kevin Korus, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent.

Fall Pond Workshop Series – October 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (additional workshop series dates are November 14, and December TBA for the rescheduled class that was scheduled on September 21), at the University of Florida Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (7922 N.W. 71st Street, Gainesville).

The Fall Pond Workshop Series covers different topics for each of the scheduled dates. The October 17th workshop topics include: fish health and water quality (common fish diseases and parasites and their management, water quality (dissolved oxygen pH, alkalinity, etc.) testing and management. Attendees are encouraged to bring samples from their ponds in sealable mason jars or any other appropriate container. Water quality testing will be conducted during the program and results delivered at the end of the workshop. Dr. Ruth Francis-Floyd and Dr. Kevin Korus will be conducting this workshop. Presenters will stay after each program to answer questions not addressed, and a variety of handouts will be available.

The cost is $6.00 (includes light refreshments) for each workshop. Participants can register online for October 17th and November 14th. They are limited to 35 participants. There are no refunds for registration costs.
