Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee member, Alachua County Community Support Services Director Claudia Tuck, succeeded in adding the language, “NACo strongly supports retaining Housing First as a best practice approach to homeless assistance that prioritizes providing permanent housing to people experiencing homelessness,” to item 13. (page 24) of the Homeless Assistance section.

In addition to Commissioner Cornell’s and Mrs. Tuck’s language submissions, Mrs. Tuck received two Presidential Appointments.  She was appointed Vice Chair for Social Services of the Human Services and Education Committee and a member of the Veterans and Military Services Committee.
