Blood Drive Animal Adoption Event

adoptable dog
Alachua County Animal Services, along with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are offering free pet adoptions to those donating blood on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Animal Services Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville).

Blood donors will receive a voucher which is good for a waived-fee adoption on any pet at Alachua County Animal Services. These vouchers are transferrable, and do not expire.

Blood donors must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and show ID.

Pet adopters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals are current on rabies and license. All dogs and cats available for adoption are examined, vaccinated and spayed or neutered prior to leaving Animal Services.

Blood donations are down this summer.  All blood types are needed. Please plan now to donate and save 2 lives.
