Approximately 22 employees operate the 27,520 square foot Transfer Station with eight tractor-trailers, two grapples, and a front-end loader.

Approximately 500-600 tons per day (about 163,000 tons per year) of household and commercial waste generated in Alachua County is hauled to the New River Solid Waste Facility in Raiford, Florida. Full operations began in December 1998.
