    The Waste Management Division provides waste reduction and recycling education to students and the public by giving facility tours, classroom presentations and through various media. Remember the four R's: Reduce, Reuse. Recycle and Rethink
  • Leveda Brown Environmental Park
    The Leveda Brown Environmenal Park houses the transfer station, SP Recycling, and the Hazardous Waste Collection Center
  • Rural Collection Centers
    The Waste Management Division operates five Rural Collection Centers for recycling, solid waste, hazardous waste and yard waste
  • Landfill Monitoring
    The Waste Management Division closely monitors all five of the closed landfills in Alachua County to protect groundwater and comply with state regulations

Sustainable Solid Waste Management During the next 10 years, solid waste management in Alachua County will change significantly. Alachua County has taken steps to shape the future of solid waste by adopting a 75% recycling goal in the Comprehensive Plan.

Leveda Brown Environmental Park

This environmental park houses Alachua County's transfer station, Hazardous Waste Collection Center and SP Recycling. Residents and businesses can drop off recycling, yard waste and general household waste.

Waste Alternatives provides FREE school and community presentations, compost bins, business waste audits and event recycling support.

Waste Collection

The Alachua County Office of Waste Collection provides Alachua County residents with curbside pickup for solid waste, recycling and yard waste. Waste Collection also provides the five Rural Collection Centers, regional facilities for the collection of recycling, solid waste, yard trash, bulk items and household hazardous waste.
