4/2/2012 12:00 AM

GAINESVILLE, FL - Alachua County Sustainability Program and Grow Gainesville hosted the first of a three part Native Pollinator Workshop Series on Saturday March 31 at the Downtown Farmers Garden.

Thirteen people were in attendance to learn and discuss with presenter Jason Graham of UF Native Buzz and University of Florida Honey Bee Research and Extension. Graham spoke on the importance of native pollinators, the variety of species, and how to host them with artificial nesting habitats.
UF Native Buzz is a citizen science project with a nationwide network of artificial pollinator habitats. They are used to learn about the nesting preferences, diversity and distribution of native pollinators. More information can be found at www.ufnativebuzz.com and in this UF Native Buzz Flyer.
