WSPP Site Sign

This upper-left sign is intended to identify Alachua County Forever Preserves. It will be replaced by permanent signs identifying the site name and any partners when the sites are open to the public. The upper-right sign is added to the Preservation Area when the site was purchased using the 2008 Wild Spaces & Public Places Surtax proceeds.

Not all sites will carry this sign. Beville Creek/Cofrin Nature Park is managed by the City of Gainesville and has their sign on the road. Austin Cary Newnan's Lake and Lochloosa Flatwoods Reserve are managed by the St. Johns River Water Management District. Watermelon Pond - Williams and Santa Fe River Odom are isolated and remote.

Opportunities for recreation are varied and diverse depending on the site. One can enjoy hiking, cycling, birdwatching, nature study, environmental eduction, historic and cultural appreciation, camping, hoseback riding and hunting. Click on the fact sheets below for more information on each acquisition and what to do there.
