Alachua County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee/City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Joint Special Meeting

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) will host a joint Special Meeting with the City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Community Support Services Thomas Coward Auditorium (218 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville).

The purpose of the joint meeting will be to discuss the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for each entity for the upcoming state fiscal years, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020. The LHAP is a plan that describes the SHIP housing strategies and how SHIP funds will be spent to help meet the housing needs of very low and low-income households. The plan also seeks to help expand the production and preservation of affordable housing, and to further the housing element of the local government comprehensive plan specific to affordable housing.

Alachua County AHAC’s mission is to review established policies and procedures, ordinances, and land development regulations of Alachua County, and to recommend actions or initiatives to encourage affordable housing to the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.
