Christmas and New Year’s Schedules

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Other than emergency services, all Alachua County government offices will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1, in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Holidays.

Curbside Waste Collection/Collection Centers

Residential curbside collection service for solid waste, recycling and yard trash will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week following each holiday (December 25, and January 1). Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday’s regular solid waste collection will not be affected by these holidays. Thursday’s collection will occur on Friday and Friday’s collection will occur Saturday. The regular schedule for these services will resume the following week. 

The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers will be closed December 24, 25, and January 1. The Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station will be closed December 25, and January 1.

The Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. The Office of Waste Collection will be closed December 25, and 26, January 1 and January 2. The regular schedule for these services will resume January 3.

Animal Services

Animal Services will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday).

Clerk of the Court

The Office of the Clerk of the Court will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).

Property Appraiser

The Property Appraiser’s Office will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).

Tax Collector

The Tax Collector’s Office will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).

The Supervisor of Elections Office will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).
