2009/10 Poverty Reduction Funding (CAPP)

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications from 501(c)(3) organizations for the Community Agency Partnership Program (CAPP) poverty reduction funding program.  Agencies must have a physical location in Alachua County and current 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.  The funding is available for programs that reduce poverty among Alachua County residents.  Programs must fall into one of the following four categories:  Basic Assistance, Healthcare, Housing/Supportive Living or Child/Youth Education, Safety, Growth & Development.  The categories are explained further in the application instructions and will be covered in the pre-application workshops.

All applicants are required to attend one pre-application workshop.  There will be an abbreviated workshop for applicants who received CAPP funding in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.  If an applicant did not receive CAPP funding in 2007-2008 and in 2008-2009, the applicant must attend one of the two new applicant workshops.  If a workshop is not attended by a representative of the organization, the organization will not be eligible to apply for funding.  No RSVP is required or requested for the workshops.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009.  Applications are time-stamped upon submission and none will be accepted past a 5 p.m. time stamp.  Applicants are encouraged to allow time for very limited downtown parking.
