Health Fair

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Department of Community Support Services', Partners for a Productive Community, is hosting a Health Fair on Saturday, March 21, 2009. The Health Fair is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cornerstone Community Center (100 Castle Drive, Gainesville). There are activities for adults and children.

Event activities include:

  • CHOICES Health Education and Wellness Program will conduct basic blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings.
  • Gainesville Health and Fitness Personal Trainers will demonstrate basic stretching exercises and provide helpful tips on exercise routines.
  • ReQuest Physical Therapy will distribute coupons for free orthopedic screenings, valued at $125.00.
  • UF Campus Kitchens, a student-led organization, will set up stations specifically geared towards kids where they prepare their own healthy snack, and engage in other nutrition and health-related activities.
  • Public Education Coordinators from Public Safety will provide fire safety education to residents.
  • University of Florida College of Medicine will assist parents with Kidcare applications.
  • The LifeSouth Bloodmobile will attend from 12:30 p.m. to 4p.m.
  • A Licensed Massage Therapist will give free mini-massages.
