ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Public Works' "Waste Watcher" (click here to meet the Waste Watcher) and his team will be at the 19th Annual Kanapaha Spring Garden Festival. The festival is held at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, located on SW Archer Road (State Road 24), 1 mile west of Interstate 75 (exit #384), in Gainesville. The festival will take place from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.
The Waste Watcher will give composting information, and free wire compost bins. Compost Kid will entertain the kids. The Kanapaha Spring Garden Festival has over 200 booths featuring plants & garden merchandise, landscape displays, seminars, live and silent auctions, children's activity area, arts & crafts, educational exhibits, walk-through butterfly house, live entertainment, food, and several guest speakers.
Admission to the Spring Garden Festival is $7 per adult, $4 per child (6-13 years old), and children under 6 years old are free. The festival is offering free shuttle parking from Kanapaha Park and Kanapaha Middle School on Tower Road. Pets are not allowed into the festival.
