HeatWave Championship Tonight

3:05 p.m.

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The summer HEATWAVE program announces its championship game will be held tonight for its 17 and up basketball players. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Center located at 1028 NE 14th Street.  The evening starts with an inspirational talk by Demetrius Hill, former Gator Basketball Player, speaking to the youth about his high school, college and professional experiences.  The games start a 6 p.m. The there will be a total of 4 games, each lasting approximately one hour.  The games are free to the public. 

We urge the public to join us in a great evening of youth basketball and good sportsmanship.  

The 13 to 16 year olds championship will take place on August 23, 2008.
