ALACHUA COUNTY FL. - The Alachua County Growth Management Department invites all interested members of the community to attend a Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) workshop on Thursday evening, January 10, 2008 from 6 pm to 8 p.m. in the Grace Knight Conference Room in the County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville. This is the last workshop prior to presenting the final TDR Report and recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. In the series of workshops held to date, Growth Management and Environmental Protection staff has worked with the participants to prepare a draft report providing an analysis of TDR programs in general, an overview of some existing programs, and a review of the potential issues for Alachua County in establishing a successful program. On Thursday staff will present a draft recommendation for discussion prior to its inclusion in the final TDR Report that will be presented to the County Commission in February.
