ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County's Cooperative Extension Office will be offering three events open to the public in May.  All events will be held at the UF/IFAS Alachua County Extension Office located at 2800 N.E. 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL.
 
Getting to Green - Florida Friendly Landscaping
May 14, 2008    6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Getting to Green is a Florida Yards and Neighborhoods class covering techniques for Florida Friendly landscaping. This class will cover design concepts and plant choices for a healthy landscape that does not waste natural resources. There is no charge for this class.
 
Master Gardener Annual Plant Sale
May 17, 2008    8 a.m. - noon
A huge selection of interesting plants will be for sale at affordable prices, grown by Master Gardeners. Residents are advised to bring their own boxes and/or wagons.
 
Lawn Boot Camp
May 28, 2008    6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Learn about grass types and lawn care. Subjects covered will include watering, fertilizing, pest management, disease problems, mowing and growing for healthy lawns that don't pollute the environment. There is no charge for this class.
