East Gainesville Town Hall Meeting

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fl. - In order to update, inform, and communicate with citizens, a Town Hall Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 5:30 PM at the  Alachua County Health Department located at 224 S E 24th  Street Gainesville, Florida . 

 

The meeting agenda includes two main items: "Property Tax Reform" and "East Gainesville Development Issues."  Alachua County Commissioner Rodney J. Long will facilitate the "Property Tax Reform" item.  Presenters for this topic include:

  • Charles Chestnut, lV, State Representative, District 23
  • Paula DeLaney, Chair Alachua County Commission
  • Randall H. Reid, Alachua County Manager
  • Pegeen Hanrahan, City of Gainesville Mayor
  • Russ Blackburn, City of Gainesville Manager

 City of Gainesville Commissioner Scherwin Henry and Alachua County Commissioner Rodney J. Long will facilitate the "East Gainesville Development Issues" item.  Presenters for this topic include:  

  • Quenta Vettel, Walmart 
  • Gerry Dedenbach, For the  Development Partners of Ironwood/Hatchet Creek
  • Mark Hill, Assistant Alachua County Manager on Fairgrounds/Commercial Park
  •  Martin Gold, UF Project Director, on Waldo Road Corridor Study
  •  Ken Zeichner Alachua County Principal Planner on Eastside Activity Center

In speaking of the Town Hall Meeting Commissioner Long said, "I urge citizens to attend, let their voices be heard, and learn more about these two critical issues."

 

Each segment will include a question and answer period.  Light refreshments will be served.
