Make Mitigation Happen Workshop

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Emergency Management is hosting a “Make Mitigation Happen” workshop on April 28, 2014, beginning at 10 a.m. at Highlands Community Church (1001 NE 16th Ave, Gainesville). The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged.

The workshop provides information to homeowners on ways to mitigate damage to homes from future disasters. Information on how to reduce insurance premiums for homeowner’s windstorm coverage will also be provided.

This workshop is the first in a series called “Be Ready Florida,” which encourages homeowners to prepare for all types of disasters, and is presented by the Florida Division of Emergency Management, in partnership with Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE), Volunteer Florida and the Florida Association of Counties.
