ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct a Special Meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. There will be a three part presentation from County staff including a guest speaker Michael Warren, AMJ. The presentation provides a high level overview of Alachua County’s economic, demographic, and fiscal trends. This meeting provides background information leading up to the December 13, County Commission Strategy Retreat.  The meeting will be held in the Grace Knight Conference Room, located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration building (12 SE 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

The 10 a.m. meeting agenda item includes:

1. Alachua County's Economic, Demographic and Fiscal Trends

Part 1: Demographics/Economic Picture and Service Social Service Impacts – Steve Lachnicht/ Edgar Campa-Palafox

Part 2: A perspective on economic development – Michael Warren, AMJ

Part 3: Overview of the County’s fiscal picture – Todd Hutchinson, Finance and Accounting Director, and Kevin Smith, Interim Office of Management and Budget Director
