County Memorial Day Hours and Waste Collection

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Other than essential services, all Alachua County offices will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013.

Residential curbside collection service for solid waste, recycling and yard trash will be delayed by one day due to the holiday.  The regular schedule for these services will not occur on Monday, May 27. Monday’s regular collection will occur on Tuesday, and so on through the week ending with Thursday’s collection on Friday.  Regular collection schedules will resume on Monday, June 3.

The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers, the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station will also be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, and the Hazardous Waste Center will be closed on Saturday, May 25, and Monday, May 27. Residents wishing to dispose of household hazardous waste on Saturday, May 25, may use any of the five Rural Collection Centers. All facilities will resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 28.
