ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Other than emergency services, all Alachua County government offices will be closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1, in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Holidays.
Curbside Waste Collection/Collection Centers
Residential curbside collection service for solid waste, recycling and yard trash will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week following each holiday (December 25, and January 1). Monday’s regular solid waste collection will not be affected by these holidays. The regular schedule for collection services will resume the week of January 7.
The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers and the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station will be closed December 25 and January 1. The Office of Waste Collection and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will be closed Monday and Tuesday, December 24, and 25, and Monday, December 31, and Tuesday, January 1.

Animal Services
Animal Services will be closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1, however there will be an officer available for emergency call outs through the Alachua Sheriffs Communication Center. All other days, offices will be open regular hours (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday).
