ALACHUA COUNTY - Alachua County Veterans Services and the veteran community will hold their Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Sunday, November 11, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Alachua County Veterans Memorial in Kanapaha Park (on the corner of SW 75th St. and SW 41st Pl., Gainesville). The theme this year will be "A Walk Through Time." This event is open to the public. Citizens are advised to bring their own lawn chairs to sit on.
The celebration features the Alachua County Memorials at the Kanapaha Park site. There will also be musical tributes by Fort Clarke Middle School, a drill team demonstration, a flag and a wreath laying ceremony and the arrival of the US flag by Sky Divers from Sky Dive Palatka.
