Local State of Emergency Due To High Water

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Due to unusually high water and local flooding caused by Tropical Stormed Debbie’s heavy rainfall, Alachua County has issued a proclamation declaring a local state of emergency.

The County has also activated the 311 Emergency Management Information/Rumor Control Line.

Roadways, parks, and residences have been impacted. It is anticipated that the water levels will remain high for several days. Alachua County cautions its citizens and visitors to use extreme care when around the high water. It is unsafe to enter flooded areas. Individuals should avoid these areas until the water return to safe levels.
