ACEPD Biodiesel Generator

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department (ACEPD), in cooperation with the United Way of North Central Florida, is providing a 100% biodiesel fueled generator for the children's area of United Way's United Downtown event on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

ACEPD’s Hazardous Waste Collection Center receives and processes waste vegetable oil from local households and restaurants to produce a high grade biodiesel fuel.  This  fuel is used to power a 20 kilowatt portable electrical generator that will be used at this event.  ACEPD staff will also be able to collect waste vegetable oil from participating vendors from the event’s food court.
