Kanapaha Rec. Center Groundbreaking

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission is proud to announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Kanapaha Park Recreation Center.  This project also includes the lighting of one of the park’s existing soccer fields.  The ceremony will take place on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Kanapaha Park located at 7400 SW 41st Place, Gainesville, Florida. 

County Manager Randall H. Reid will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.  Alachua County Commission Chairman Lee Pinkoson and Facilities Manager Charlie Jackson will be the features speakers.

“This project will not only provide much needed recreation opportunities to Alachua County residents,” said Manager Reid, “It will also be of great service to the Veterans community as it will assist in the maintenance of the County’s premier Veterans memorial and enhance the County’s Veterans Day activities.”
