Turkey Creek Hammock Preserve Trash Clean-up Event

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Environmental Protection Department’s Alachua County Forever Program invites residents to participate in a Great American Clean-up event on Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 9 a.m. to Noon, at the Turkey Creek Hammock Preserve (NW 59th Terrace). This clean-up event is sponsored by Keep Alachua Beautiful and Emerald Waste Services.

Alachua County Environmental Specialist, Kevin Ratkus said, "We need you to make this volunteer trash clean-up a success, so bring your family, friends and neighbors and let’s clean-up the woods." He advises that, "Volunteers must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and should bring work gloves (for picking up trash)."

Turkey Creek Hammock Preserve is a 380 acre tract of conservation land purchased in December 2009. through the Alachua County Forever Program. It is located on the eastern boundary of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park.
