Notice of Two Special Meetings of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners

The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners invites all citizens to two special meetings of the County Commission on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.

The first meeting, at 3 p.m., is concerning Economic Development in Alachua County. The meeting will take place in the Jack Durrance Board Room, which is room 209 on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 12 SE First St., Gainesville.

The Commission encourages citizens to attend the meeting and share their ideas on economic development.

The agenda for the meeting will include a review and discussion of a proposed 15-Year Economic Development Vision and Plan for Alachua County which will be presented by Commissioner Rodney J. Long.

The second meeting is a special meeting of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners and the Commission’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) concerning the possible development of a county business/commerce park.

The special meeting will also take place on Nov. 28, 2005, and is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Combined Meeting Rooms A, B and C at the Alachua County Health Department, 224 SE 24th St., Gainesville.

The purpose of this meeting will be to develop a vision for a possible business/commerce park for two specific sites previously identified by the Commission and the EDAC. The discussion will include such issues as mix of uses, design criteria, environmental considerations and the development advantages and constraints of each site. The Commission encourages citizen attendance at this meeting as well and welcomes input and ideas regarding this proposal.
