New Health Department Assistant Director Appointed

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Paul Myers, Environmental Health Director of the Alachua County Health Department, has been appointed as the new Assistant Director of the Health Department.
 
"I am pleased to welcome Paul Myers to his new role within the Alachua County Health Department," Health Department Administrator Jean Munden said.  "Mr. Myers's eight years of experience as the Environmental Health Director of the Alachua County Health Department and his environmental engineering and epidemiology background will be a tremendous asset to the dedicated Health Department team."
 
Paul Myers has been working in public health for 20 years.  He has been employed by the Alachua County Health Department since 1988 where he began employment as an environmental health inspector.  He has since been promoted to Environmental Supervisor, Assistant Environmental Health Director, and Environmental Health & Epidemiology Director.
 
"I am honored to have been afforded this opportunity to work with the Alachua County Health Department staff and community partners in fulfilling our mission to promote, protect and improve the health of the community," said Mr. Myers.
 
Mr. Myers holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and a Masters in Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida.
