COUNTY SURVEY DEADLINE EXTENDED

1/31/2007 3:47 PM

3:55 p.m.

ALACHUA COUNTY - The Alachua County 2007 Calendar/Annual Report that was mailed to citizens in December of 2006 included a very important survey.  The survey is a no postage necessary, self-mailer.  January 31, 2007 was the advertised deadline to return the survey.

That deadline has been extended to Monday February 5, 2007.  Surveys that are postmarked no later then February 5, 2007 will be included in the report to the County Commission.

In speaking of the extension County Manager Randall H. Reid said, "The best way for the County Commission and County Government to make informed decisions about the needs and desires of its citizenry is for that citizenry to be engaged in the process." Reid continued saying, "This survey crosses the digital divide.  It gives all of our citizens the opportunity to comment on a number of broad issues and services.  Not all citizens can come to meetings to engage in government processes or have internet access.  Returning this survey by the new deadline date will add  your voice to the report that will be presented to the County Commission later in the year."

If you would prefer to complete the survey online, please go to www.alachuacounty.us/survey/
