ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Commission will conduct two Special Meetings on Tuesday July 17, 2012, in the Grace Knight Conference Room on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street, downtown Gainesville.

The Special Meeting/General Policy Discussion begins at 10 a.m.

The agenda includes the following item for Board action: 

1.     Contract Approval with John C. Hipp Construction for the Emergency replacement of two (2) culverts on NW 156th Ave. (Amended)

The agenda includes the following items for Board discussion:

2.     Mosquito Control

3.     GRU Overage

The Special Meeting/General Policy Discussion meetings are typically held twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays at 10 a.m.  The agenda always includes a “Commission Discussion’ agenda item so that Commissioners can discuss any item they choose.  The Commission will not take action during the Commission Discussion period.

The 2nd Special Meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. 

1.     Request that the BOCC set proposed millage rates to fund FY13 Tentative Budget

2.     Resolution Ordering Nonbinding Referendum on Amending Constitution of the United States to Provide that Only Natural Persons are Entitled to Constitutionally Guaranteed Rights

3.     Approve and execute the 2nd Amendment to ALCO Connector Agreement between Alachua County and MV Contract Transportation, Inc., a for-profit corporation, serving as the Coordinated Transportation Provider.
