FY2012/2013 CAPP Poverty Reduction Program Funding

4/25/2012 12:00 PM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is seeking proposals from 501(c)(3) agencies with a physical address in Alachua County for the delivery of poverty reduction services to lower-income Alachua County residents in the areas of Food, Health Care, Housing/Utilities, Children’s Safety and Children’s Education for the FY2012/2013 Community Agency Partnership Program (CAPP).  All proposal materials may be obtained via the Alachua County homepage or directly from the Purchasing Office.

The grant period is from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.   Funding is on a reimbursement basis.

The deadline for application submission is May 30, 2012, by 5 p.m.  All applications must be submitted to the Alachua County Purchasing Division, 12 SE 1st Street, 3rd floor, Gainesville, FL. 32601, 352-374-5202.  Absolutely no late applications will be accepted.

All applicants are required to attend the in-person pre-application workshop or view the online pre-application video.  The in-person workshop is more detailed and comprehensive than the video, so it is strongly suggested that potential applicants who have never applied for CAPP funding or who did not apply in FY2011/2012 attend the in-person workshop.  The in-person workshop is open to ALL potential applicants, however, regardless of prior CAPP funding application.

Pre-Application Workshop:

Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Alachua County Health Dept., 224 SE 24th Street, Gainesville.   No food or beverages will be provided, but you may bring your own.  The workshop is comprehensive and will contain detailed information on the grant and step-by-step instructions on completion and submission of proposals.

Pre-Application Instructional Video:

If applicants choose not to attend the pre-application workshop, the online instructional video must be viewed.  The video can be accessed via the Alachua County homepage.  The in-person workshop is more detailed and comprehensive than the video, so new applicants, particularly, are strongly encouraged to attend the in-person workshop.

Application Submission Deadline:

The deadline for submitting applications (one original and 9 copies for each program proposal) is 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Alachua County Purchasing Division, 3rd Floor; County Administration Building; 12 SE 1st Street; Gainesville, Florida; 32602; Phone: 352-374-5202.  The Purchasing Office will stop accepting applications at precisely 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012.  No late applications will be accepted.  Applications attempting to be submitted past 5 p.m., on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 are considered late and will not be accepted.
