September Environmental Horticulture Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Extension Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental Horticulture Programs for September, 2011. There is no cost to attend these programs and are offered by Wendy Wilber, Environmental Horticulture agent.

Raised Bed Vegetable Gardening – September 15 and 22, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Extension Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue)
This program teaches what crops to grow a fall garden and efficient techniques for growing vegetables in raised beds. Demonstration gardens are located on site.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Tour of Landscapes – September 24
Learn Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ techniques by touring Gainesville yards that have sustainable, and water conserving landscapes. The tours leave from the Millhopper branch library (3145 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville). Wendy Wilber will make a short presentation on Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ at 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Call 352-955-2402 to RSVP for either the 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. start times. Carpooling is encouraged.
