Firefighters Are Wearing Pink

10/26/2010 12:30 PM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County firefighters have joined other firefighters in North Central Florida in celebrating this week as National Pink Heals Week. From October 25 - 27, firefighters are wearing pink in support of (and to raise money for) women battling cancer.

“Our local Firefighters, Paramedics, and Police officers have come together wearing pink uniform shirts, to show our support for the women in our lives who are battling cancer.” said  Kevin Rulapaugh, Alachua County Pink Heals Coordinator. "We believe we can help cure cancer by simply wearing pink, because 'Pink Heals'.”

Click here to make an online donation (All money raised are donated to the Southeastern Healthcare Foundation, a local foundation to help women obtain cancer treatment).
