Florida AIDS Walk

3/12/2010 12:00 AM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Health Department, Florida Department of Health Bureau of HIV and AIDS is partnering with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) to expand services in Florida. AHF is setting out from Pensacola and Key West in mobile testing units 2 weeks prior to the Florida AIDS Walk (March 28, 2010) and offering HIV testing opportunities throughout Florida. They will be stopping in Gainesville on March 18, 2010 at Santa Fe College from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Glades Apartments at 4260 SE 10th Place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"This is a great testing and awareness opportunity for our community," Alachua County Health Department HIV/AIDS Program Coordinator Bobby Davis said. "One in five people with HIV don't know they're infected. Get tested. Know your status."

For more information, or for media inquiries, contact Bobby Davis, at (352) 334-7964

The goal of the Alachua County Health Department is to promote, protect, maintain, and improve the health and safety of all citizens and visitors.
