SCOPE: This policy applies to all persons employed by the Board of County Commissioners.

PROVISIONS:

  1. General Rule. A permanent employee hired prior to June 1st who does not use any sick leave or leave without pay during the calendar year will be credited with leave hours equal to one of the employee’s regular full shifts not to exceed 12 hours.
    1. Leave usage and eligibility will be pro-rated for part time employees working at least 20 hours per week.
    2. For purposes of this policy, leave due to FMLA or Workers’ Compensation shall not count.
  1. Use of Leave. Paid leave shall be taken at a time mutually convenient to the employee and the department, shall require prior supervisory approval and shall be used in the subsequent calendar year.
