The Alachua County Animal Shelter's list of adoptable pets is available on www.PetHarbor.com. This non-profit organization helps many shelters by providing an online database, complete with photographs, of adoptable or lost pets.

Before you take on the responsibility of caring for an animal, make sure you are ready. If you are sure you are ready, you can view the adoption process and fees and even submit an online application (or print one out and take it with you).

Using Pet Harbor to find animals in Alachua County

  1. Enter your Zip Code
  2. Click on the "Find Shelters" button (do not press enter).
  3. See the next step below...

Refining your Search

  1. From here, PetHarbor.com will help you refine your search, depending on what kind of animal you are looking for (dogs, cats, others), adoptable or lost.
  2. Then you can refine your search to filter out what particular kind of of dog, cat or adoptable animal you might be looking for. If your search comes up empty, try easing up your restrictions on what particular type of dog or cat you are looking for.
