January 30 - The  Board of County Commissoners has declared January 30 - February 3 as 'Severe Weather Awareness Week' in Alachua County. Each day Emergency Management will highlight the 'Hazard of the Day'. Today's hazard is:

As Hurricane Season Ends, Severe Weather Season Begins

December 1 - With the end of the 2011 Hurricane Season, Floridians can breath a sigh of relief. However, now is the time to prepare for the potential of Severe Weather as we move into winter. Cold fronts moving through the State can bring severe storms and residents should continue to be prepared for them. For more information, click here.
