Help Grow Urban Gardens
Food is an essential staple of life and an important means of building community. As we address issues of sustainability, food is a critical point for tackling social, economic, and environmental issues. The Downtown Farmer’s Garden is a collaborative effort between the County, not for profit groups, local businesses, and University. This partnership is a commitment to creating and maintaining a healthy, vital, and resilient community.
Purpose of the Garden
The garden space was made possible by a generous grant from the Downtown Rotary Club. It serves as a living classroom for raised bed gardening, composting, organic management practices, and native pollinators. Fruit and vegetables grown at the garden are regularly given to local charities.
A video of the July planting event is available as item number 7 of the Community Update.
Community Partners

Thanks to all our Coummunity partners who have supported the design, planting and maintenance of the garden.
