Animal Services October Adoption Events

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Animal Services (ACAS) is hosting and participating in several adoption events in October, 2014. The theme for October’s events is “Furry Tails Need Fairy Tale Endings.” All events are held at the Alachua County Animal Services Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville), unless otherwise noted.

October events include:

October 4 - “Find Your Prince Charming” doggy speed dating from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

October 7 - ASPCA Rachael Ray Announces the final results of the Rachael Ray Challenge at 3 p.m.

October 11 - Kids Craft Event, make magic wand cat toys from noon to 2 p.m.

October 25 - Off-Site Adoption Event at Earthwise Pet (4106 NW 16th Blvd., Gainesville) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

October 31 - Trick or Treat at Animal Services: bring costumed pets to ACAS for a treat from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Shelter Supervisor, Jane Grantman said “We believe for every cat and dog we have at the shelter the perfect home awaits them – we just need to play matchmaker.” She continued, “Come visit the shelter this month and meet your own ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Prince Charming’ and create your own fairy tale ending. Happily ever after starts here.”

ACAS adoption fees are: $30 for dogs, $25 for cats and $15 for any animal that has been there over 21 days. The adoption fee includes: a vet exam, initial vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter and a free office visit at a participating vet in the area.

Alachua County Animal Services Headquarters regular hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
